Search Engine Marketing

Search Engine Marketing Biography

Name:    I think you got that part already!
Born:    1966
Home:   Just north of Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Occupation:  Search engine optimization specialist and entrepreneur
Hobbies:    Masters' swimming, coaching my three sons and reading (more like "devouring") books. Most recent reads: "The Long Tail -- Why The Future of Business Is Selling Less of More", "Don't Make Me Think -- A Common Sense Approach to Web Usability" & Maurice Sendak's kid classic, "Where The Wild Things Are".

Ivy League Basketball Player + Direct Marketer = Rare Combo
I graduated with honors from Princeton University with a degree in social psychology, although for the number of hours I played varsity basketball, I could claim a degree in that sport too. I've also got a Masters of Business Administration from University of California at Berkeley, with an emphasis in marketing.

I cut my teeth as a database / direct marketer for a Fortune 100 company – learning the fine art of conversion one direct mail piece at a time. We sold “membership services” and I figure if you can get people to buy accidental death & dismemberment insurance via the mail, you pretty much have the direct marketing basics nailed!
